(H&M peplum blouse and pants, Marc by Marc Jacobs necklace and solid perfume ring, Nine West nude pumps, very old Tacchini bag)
There’s something so refreshing in wearing lighter colors now that spring is here! I did the countdown for spring to come just to wear these mint green H&M trousers. I bought them last year on a super sales-filled shopping spree, but autumn was so close so I had to store them in my closet. Since then I have patiently waited for spring to show up again.
I am in love with the pastel color of those trousers, I like the trend of colored jeans and pants mostly because colors are a simple and sincere form of expression, the one I prefer. But on the other hand these skinny pants are very high-waisted making me feel a little bit uncomfortable because I am not used to that. That is the reason why I paired them with my peplum blouse. I know, peplum is a hard fashion subject because, you know, why should I want to wear something that accentuates my hips? True, but I think the secret is always balancing the shapes of the clothes that you are wearing. In this case I find that peplum works well because it is paired with skinny pants, making volumes counterbalance in the best of ways.
