Berlin is different from what you would expect it to be. Being a capital, or to be more precise the capital of the richest European nation I was ready to compare it to London, or Paris, or Dublin. Big mistake, because Berlin is totally different. Should I find an adjective to describe the city, probably I would say “understated”. It took some time to adjust to that, but of course in the end I enjoyed every single moment I spent there.
The first strange thing about Berlin was that it is crossed throughout with these big (and colored!) ducts. After some research I discovered they are vital for the city because it is built on water, so the ducts serve to drain water otherwise the city would run the serious risk to sink.
Best breakfast ever! Love Back Factory!
The amazing architecture of the city
Berlin is famous for its unique amount of street art. It was fun to always look for these urban and modern masterpieces! My favorite was the Ash’s astronaut, I was happy I spotted it!
The Spree river at night
Should you visit Berlin, you cannot miss the Reichstag …
… and the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe
Some live classical music sung by a choir en plein air
I loved the food and the beer here at The Pub!
Berlin Wall. Still unbelievable in my mind that a city was divided in two. And all those that died to try to reach East from West or vice-versa. Such a tragedy.
