Since when I moved to my new home every Saturday I am treating myself with fresh flowers. They really have this amazing power of transforming a room simply with their shapes and colours. Home here still is a work in progress but with fresh flowers everything looks better!
Probably Marni does agree with me on that and decided to celebrate its first 20 years with a Flower Market here in Milan at the Rotonda della Besana. There I saw beautiful flowers but honestly I must confess that I mostly wanted to buy all the bags because, you know, Marni patterns are impossible to resist!
All around the Rotonda della Besana was a triumph of patterned florals and real flowers, even the wrapping paper was to die for, I cursed myself for not being able to do any DIY stuffs because I would have happily taken any of the sheets to have something Marni at home… Here’s the SS 15 collection showed on the Milanese runway and of course its eclectic aesthetic perfectly matched what was showed at the Flower Market: the big patterns, the huge florals and the colours with the bottle green reigning supreme.
On a more important note, some of the proceeds of the Marni’s Flower Market are going to charity to the Vimala Association to help Tibetan children in India.
