There’s something charming about rain, so fascinating that it makes it my guilty pleasure.

Rain has its own beauty, an enchanting slowness and perfectly-on-time tick tick sound that everyone should discover. Its noise makes for a sort of backing vocals for the thoughts, don’t you think? I do, and probably that’s the reason why I love to be found in the middle of it.

RAIN, I DON'T MIND

“If the rain comes they run and hide their heads” – The Beatles, “Rain” (1966)

In spite of being the girl ever-loving summer-ish and warm weather, I count rain as my only exception. The city suddenly gets grey and empty because everyone looks for a shelter on tram, bus, trains, underground – anything. I never do that, but instead have the longest walks, possibly avoiding main streets. Such jewels I have discovered here in Milan!

RAIN, I DON'T MIND

“I can show you that when it starts to rain
Everything’s the same
I can show you, I can show you

Rain, I don’t mind
Shine, the weather’s fine

Can you hear me, that when it rains and shines
It’s just a state of mind?
Can you hear me, can you hear me?”

The Beatles, “Rain” (1966)

RAIN, I DON'T MIND

When it rains it feels like time lengthens, and the noise it makes while joining my steps is so calm and distinctive, it’s truly beautiful. You walk, you see the world you’ve lived in for the very first time in beautiful shades of grey. An then the alarm clock sounds, and you’re back home.
